100 Years of Red Devil Football

The CHS Athletic Booster Club and Clinton High School athletics are proud to announce a very special celebration of Clinton football history.  The Clinton High School Athletics Booster Club will sponsor a 100 Years of Clinton Red Devils Football celebration!

The 2023 football campaign marks the 100+ year of CHS Red Devils Football. Our records show that Clinton High played three football games that are recorded in 1921 and 1922, but the first FULL season of Clinton football was played in 1923.

Clinton High School Athletics and Laurens County School District 56 have joined with the booster club to honor our football history throughout 2023 football season.  CHS will have a season-long celebration with special events, items, memorabilia, and special programs planned for each week of the 2023 football campaign.

Our booster club works side-by-side with our local radio station, WPCC, and we will once again work together to commemorate this special celebration.  The CHS broadcast crew will celebrate our 100+ years with special features on each Red Devils’ broadcast this year, especially on the popular Saturday Morning Rewind show.

The home Clinton vs Chapman game on September 15, will be the official game night of the 100+ Celebration, and we invite all Red Devil Football players from every generation to be there. What a night it will be to have “The Pride of Clinton” all together for one very special celebration.

Plans include having our Red Devils wear the specially designed 100 Year logo.  There will also be items our community can purchase in our Red Devil store inside Wilder Stadium during home football games.

The entire Clinton community is proud of all our Red Devil teams and players, in every sport!  As CHS principal Dr. Martha Brothers says each day, it is a good day to be a Red Devil!  GO BIG RED!
