Campaigning in advance of Feb. 24, 2024

Ron DeSantis says he's the only Republican Presidential contender who has beaten the leftists

Posted

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis brings his Republican Presidential campaign to Clinton on Friday, December 1, in advance of the Feb. 24, 2024, primary election in South Carolina, the First-in-the-South GOP race for the nomination. DeSantis references his Nov. 30 Red State vs Blue State appearance against California Governor Gavin Newsome when he says, “When you have a leftist ideology that has captured cities and states in this country, it’s not just bad policy; it causes these states and cities to collapse, and that’s what you have seen in California, where you have almost a million people who have moved out of there since Gavin’s been governor. That is a result of his leftist agenda; it’s the result of people fleeing a state that doesn’t respect their freedoms. … What you have seen happen in California is the leftist agenda go full throttle.” DeSantis promises to build the southern border wall, protect 2nd Amendment rights from attacks by the ATF, destroy Mexican drug cartels to eliminate sex trafficking, and battle inflation by “stopping Congress from spend us into oblivion, open up energy, and take Bidenonmics and all the regulation and rip it up and throw it in the trash.” Pointing out that he’s in the prime of his life and can be a two-term president, DeSantis says, “We need a president who can actually defeat the left — it’s time we started winning again in this country.” - Photo by Vic MacDonald

South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis Removes Disney From State’s Investment Portfolios

December 5, 2023

South Carolina State Treasurer Curtis Loftis has removed The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) from its approved investment list. The State Treasurer’s Office portfolio contains $105 million dollars of Disney debt instruments that will mature as scheduled and will not be replaced. The Treasurer will focus on the equity portfolio in the coming weeks.

In speaking to his staff, Treasurer Loftis expressed concerns that “Disney has abandoned its fiduciary responsibilities to its investors and customers by joining far-left activist in boycotting legal, taxpaying, employment-creating corporations to further Disney’s political agenda.”

Treasurer Loftis stated that “multi-billion-dollar corporations should not engage in boycotts designed to silence legitimate debate. Since America’s founding, freedom of speech has been one of its core principles, and Disney should not engage in nefarious practices aimed at silencing those with less power and money.”

Curtis M. Loftis, Jr. is serving his fourth term as South Carolina’s State Treasurer. As the “state’s banker,” he manages approximately $70 billion per year, serves on various boards and commissions and is the administrator of numerous statewide programs.
